Hello

Won't be around much today as him indoors parents are coming down for dinner.
Last night was another quiet evening and I had one small glass of wine and didn't really enjoy it...........I wonder why? I've been feeling like pooh lately........no energy etc, probably be ok once the old gallbladders out lol. Apparently this is quite common. Oh well, will break open a bottle of Asti for the dinner table and see what happens lol.

A nice evening.

We spent a nice evening playing on the Wii and playing good old fashioned board games with the twins including Kerplunk lol. I only won one game but who cares, it's the taking part that matters, or so I keep telling myself lol. The last two days seemed to have come and gone so quickly.

I have also started reading 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea on my Reader even though I said I wouldn't until I had finished my library book. I couldn't help myself.

Not so pickled onions!

We've just had dinner. We had 'our' traditional Boxing Day dinner of cold meats, mash, pickles etc. I was sooooo disapointed with the pickled onions. They had no omphh.........they were worse than a wet fart in a thunderstorm very weak tasting. Will have to go back to making my own next year again instead of buying them from the Supermarket lol. The kids call them bum blasters lol.

Lovely day

Well, we had a great Christmas day here. The twins got what they wanted and more besides. It was fabulous watching thier faces when they were opening their presents. We got them a Wii as their main present and we have been having fun playing on it, especially the Wii music lol.
I was gobsmacked with my pressie from him indoors. He got me a Sony Reader and a £20 voucher to go with it! Him indoors said he had to save for months to get it for me. You get a disc with it with 100 classic titles on it and I haven't read any of them so I am looking forward to that. I'm going to read 20,000 Leagues under the Sea first after I have finished reading my current library book!
I also got two watches, both sets with matching jewellery which are both lovely. I got two lots of smellies, a towel wrap thingy for when you get out of the bath and it's pale blue with monkeys on it lol. Some big Piglet slippers, Mamma Mia CD and some pretty pink shot glasses with some syrups to add to vodka. So as you can read, I did very well indeed.

The dinner was fabulous though I say so myself :p, and we washed it down with a bottle of Asti from Marks and Spencer. I thought I would drink too much but to be honest that was all I had. I didn't really feel like drinking much as I wanted to really enjoy the day with the family and I succeeded at that :D

It's 2am here and the twins are still playing the Wii, him indoors is on his DS and I'm going to go and fiddle about with my Reader lol.

I hope everyone else had a great time and I will get round to catching up on everyones blogs over the next couple of days!

CAN YOU IMAGINE?

CAN YOU IMAGINE?
(For the Child in All of Us)

Can you imagine a world without witches,
A world with all people the same?
Where the only known dragons are hiding in books,
And children are terribly tame?

A world without magic would be sad indeed.
I cannot imagine the pain
Of having a world where there's no Santa Claus,
Where wizards are searched for in vain.

Can you imagine a world without spells,
That science and businesses run?
And think of the sadness a unicorn feels
When he no longer plays in the sun.

Can you imagine a world without witches,
No elves, and no magical pools?
And can you imagine how dull it would be
If all that we had were the schools?

I cannot imagine a world without witches,
A world with no magical wand.
A world without beauty, or even a dream,
Or a wood sprite of whom to be fond.

They say I should grow up and be more mature,
Like a normal adult ought to do.
But I'd rather, at night, go to dance with a witch,
And I'll bet that you feel that way, too.

A quiet day.

A quiet day. One of the twins was sent home from school this afternoon for not feeling well again. It's like the bug is going round in circles. He gets rid of it and catches it again when he goes back to school.
I've had a lazy day and haven't bothered getting dressed, besides it's warmer in my lovely fleecy dressing gown lol.
We had a nice dinner of fishermans pie and I did a mixture of roasted vegetables covered in garlic and thyme and mixed with a little olive oil. It always makes the house smell so nice. We had apple crumble and custard for pudding, scrummy lol.

My oldest daughter, becky, popped in this evening to see how I was which was nice as I don't get to see much of her where she works so hard.

Oh Bugger!

I went to the doctors this morning as I have been having some really massive pain attacks just under my right ribs.....actually it wasn't just any old pain. It was the kind of pain that painkillers don't work on and you break out into cold sweats and just have to bear it out type of pain. Anyhow the doctor says you gotta have an operation and I said why? He said you have cholecystitis and I said whats that when its at home then? He said irritation of the lining of the gallbladder. Oh I said, oky doky then, what causes that then and he said gallstones. Ahhhh I replied. So, there you have it. He said I'm the F factor. Whats that then I said lol, to which he replied over Forty and a bit Fat. He said weight loss can cause it when I reminded him that up until recently, I had attended the fat club hehehe. Anyway, it didn't stop me from saying 'bugger' when he told me. So, I have to now wait for the NHS to send me an appointment for an ultrascan to see how bad the stones are and have been advised to cut right down on meat in my diet for the time being. To that I said 'bugger' again lol. Having an op don't scare me missus, I've had plenty of them over the years..........it's coming out with MRSA that scares me lol. My friends mum came out with MRSA after a recent stay in a hospital.......eek! The upside to it all was he didn't say that I couldnt drink any alcohol any more so at least I can enjoy the odd bottle glass of wine still now and again.

Nice evening

Colin and I sat on the sofa snuggled up with the twins under a duvet and watched 'Hancock' followed by 'Big Daddy'. We all thoroughly enjoyed Hancock and it was the first time any of us had seen it. The other film we had seen plenty of times before but the twins like it lol.

Grrrrrrrrr

Photobucket

I keep losing my internet connection today and it's been driving me potty. I'm with AOL but it's not their fault, it's BT's. No good complaining to BT though as they always try and pass the buck.
