Garden Changes

+Colin Nash  and I decided we would like to start growing our own fruit and veg.  We have a relatively small garden.

We have already made a start on an area which will be for green beans. We just need to build a frame for them. Also we will be growing Sweet Peas between the beans :-)

So far we have seeded Chives, Oregano, Tumbling Tomatoes, Sweet Pea's and Beetroot. Halfway through this month will be when a lot of sowing takes place. We are going to do most of the growing in containers and vertically. I have bought sacks for growing potatoes in.

We are saving to build a chicken coop at the bottom of the garden. It will be a raised coop so foxes and badgers are less likely to be able to reach them at night. We are hoping to have the coop done by this time next year.

We bought a good book to help us out and give us ideas.

It was not very expensive either and gives good practical tips and ideas, as well as lots of photos.

I am looking forward to growing and producing the fruit and veg. It will be satisfying!

Moll Flanders by Daniel Defoe

The Fortunes and Misfortunes of the Famous Moll Flanders by Daniel Defoe

I really enjoyed this book.
Although often times sad, it gives you a glimpse into how hard life was in those times.
Moll Flanders comes across as many things, from sad, to even heartless at times, especially where her children are concerned, to loyal and an opportunist.
The only bad thing I have to say is that there were too many typos in this edition.

Scenic Tree's.

I was standing at my back door just gazing out, when the tree's at the bottom of my garden caught my eye.

I just like the light and shadow effect with the blue sky and clouds.

Nice Day

We had a lazy day in today and we all stayed in our PJ's. I did some stitching and in between we all made cakes.

Colin decided he was going to bake as well and dropped a pot of cocoa powder all over the floor, boy did it make a mess! Needless to say, he had to clear it up because I was not going to lol. Chef he aint ;-)

This evening we sat down with a slice of cake and watched Bad Teacher with Cameron Diaz. I enjoyed it but I wouldn't of let the boys watch it if I had known there was a  topless titty scene in it. Mind you, being 14 the boys just looked away a bit embarrassed lol and did the silly giggle thing.

Nice night in.

Had a lovely evening tonight.

I made a nice chocolate cake and Colin, the twins and myself sat and watched Cowboys and Aliens starring Daniel Craig. It started off a bit weird but during the film, you begin to understand the weird start via flashbacks. It also stars Harrison Ford.

I've been suffering with bad depression lately. I have had a lot of worries lately including money worries, so it is probably down to that. The twins always cheer me up!

Blogging

The last several months I have let my blogging slip. I had lots I could of blogged about but did not, and now I am a bit stuck with what to blog about now lol. Sods law I guess.

Yesterday I was supposed to have my Colonoscopy but it got cancelled again. Can't say I mind too much as it was not something I was looking forward to!

I had a great year drumming with Section 5. Currently we are on a break and start practice up again in March.

Janies Birthday Bash

It was our drum chum Janies Birthday on Saturday and she had a fancy dress bash at The Stag pub. The costume theme was anything begining with 'S'. I went as Sister Slapper and Colin went as a Smurf hahaha.

Since joining Section 5 drummers, I have gone from no social life to hectic social life but I love it. It is not good for anyone to sit indoors day after day (apart from stitching!).
