Going to be a grandma again twice over!

I am so excited as my oldest child Rebecca (Becky) is having her first child at 27 with her partner Michael and my second oldest child Benjamin (Ben or Benny as I call him lol)  who is 25, is expecting his first one with his partner Sarah. Both are due in around July. I've known for a few weeks but they both wanted to get past the safe period of 12 weeks before generally announcing it.

It come's in threes

Yes breakdowns and things needing replacing certainly come along in threes and right after Christmas as well. First of all the clutch went on our car, a Citreon Saxo, so looking between £200 to £300 for that. It is being repaired this week. Secondly, my couch finally gave up the ghost and the supporting wood in the seat bit broke when Him Indoors went to get off it it on Saturday. We knew it wouldn't last forever but I was hoping for a bit longer. So I ordered a new two and three seater set off my catalogue. Not too bad as it is interest free for two years. Besides I am secretly happy as it will be the very first suite that I ever ever had from brand new lol.
Thirdly is my tumble dryer. It hasn't exactly broke down but it is one with a hose on it and I have to have the back door open when I use it and in this weather it's way too cold for that.  If I don't have the door open, condensation builds up way too badly even with the kitchen fan on and I really don't want to entice dampness. So I got a condensor one coming off the catalogue too which was in a sale. Thank gawd for catalogues is what I say lol.

Snowed in.

It's been a while since I last blogged. I think I needed a break as I was finding it hard to write about things. i don't know why...........blogging block maybe? lol.
We are well and truly snowed in. I am beginging to worry as I need groceries. We are not starving but just running out of daily essentials. The clutch on the car has gone and we cant afford to repair it until the end of the month, so I ordered my grocerys online via Tesco. The snow was eleviating until today and it is coming down quite heavily. The grocerys are due to be delivered Friday but I can't see it happening.

The dogs, Lindita and Lupi, have certainly been feeling the cold. I took this this morning. They are snuggled under the radiator which was on. They are not daft lol. Lindita loves running around in the snow but Lupi hates it and I have to force him outside and he digs he paws in so I have to gently push him out the back door lol.

Christmas tree

The kids put the Christmas tree up this afternoon as they had a inset day again off of school. I don't normally put it up this early but I thought what the hell. It's been a bit of a miserable year what with the recession and all and seeing a sparkly tree with flashing lights really does brighten things up a bit.
I will probably be fed up with it as Christmas nears but thats another day lol.

George has gone

George Hamilton has walked out of I'm a Celebrity.............bugger! I wanted him to win lol. I havent watched this programme for the last few years but I am enjoying this years one. My guilty pleasure perhaps?

Debenhams are arseholes!

How can a huge major chain store get something so wrong? Let me elaborate. I went in to my local Debenhams last Thursday to buy a dress for a special occasion. Usually I would go to New Look and spend about £20 but they didn't have a cocktail style dress.
So, I went to Debenhams and found the perfect dress only they didnt have my size but said they could order it online and have it sent directly to my home. I really loved the dress so said that would be fine. They took the payment right there from my Visa card including delivery charges totalling £58.59. Thats a lot of money and I never spend that kind of  ammount on a dress, not tight, but not made of money either. So imagine my dismay on the following day to be told they had made a mistake and that they didnt have my size and would refund my Visa card imeadiately! Come today (Monday), no refund had gone into my bank so I phoned Debenhams and after waiting on the phone for 20 minutes, finally got through, only to be told the money hadn't been taken out of my account when I knew damn well that it had as I check my internet banking regularly. After several minutes of arguing the toss with her and me quoting my statutary rights at her, she told me 'to send my bank statement to them proving the money had gone out of my account'. I just bloody well lost it with her and slammed the phone down. I rang my bank and told them what happened and Lloyds clarified that the money had gone out of my bank and that they would imeadiately start a dispute claim for me and the nice man even told me that this is a frequent occurence when it comes to Debenhams. Ok, so I am going to have to wait a couple of weeks to get my money back but who the bloody hell do Debenhams think they are? Plus, mine is not an isolated case. Why does the little person in the street have to battle all the way for what is rightly for theirs? Needless to say Debenhams can go fuck themselves and jump off a cliff as far as I'm concerned. They won't be getting anymore of my money in a hurry unless it's paid by cash and then I would do my utmost to try and buy it somewhere else in the first place!
Rant over with lol.

Rain and Enid Blyton

Woke up to torrential rain and I didnt' want to get out of bed. It is so overcast and dark out. Still not cold though which is a good thing.

I went shopping at Tescos yesteray and ended up buying something I couldn't resist..........all three books of Enid Blytons Magic Faraway Tree collection. I loved these books as a child and constantly reread them. I am hoping my twins will love them too and of course, I will be reading them again too!
