Dead Hamster

I've had a nice day looking after my baby granddaughter Androulla while her mummy runs their restaurant. Shes two months old already, time flys by. Hopefully I will be seeing my other granddaughter tomorrow who is the same age.
The weather is definitely worsening.............Autumn is upon us. Actually, Autumn and Winter are my favourite seasons...........I love the colours of the leaves as they fall from the trees, so pretty. It has been raining again and the temperature has dropped a little but it is still quite warm.
As a weird foot note:
My hamster snuffed it passed away the other day. I did love the little bugger, even though she was smelly and noisey.

This and That

The weather has been dreadful here again, grey skies and lots of rain and wind. At this rate we shouldn't have a water shortage this summer lol.

I entered a free book giveaway on www.goodreads.com yesterday and got an email today to say that I was won of the lucky winners. All I have to do is read it and review it.  It's called Quantum Breach by Mark Powell. I am not familiar with him but it is always good to discover new authors. It's due to be published on June 30th. I never seem to win anything, but two book competitions in two days!...........I feel good yeah lol. I am an avid reader, and can't afford my habit. I usually get books from the library or freebie e-books for my reader.

I also got a letter to say that my rent had been DECREASED! Fabulous. First time I've ever had a decrease. Guess it is because my landlord whas a charitable status.....Moat Homes Ltd.

Hope everyone is having a good day

Snowed in.

It's been a while since I last blogged. I think I needed a break as I was finding it hard to write about things. i don't know why...........blogging block maybe? lol.
We are well and truly snowed in. I am beginging to worry as I need groceries. We are not starving but just running out of daily essentials. The clutch on the car has gone and we cant afford to repair it until the end of the month, so I ordered my grocerys online via Tesco. The snow was eleviating until today and it is coming down quite heavily. The grocerys are due to be delivered Friday but I can't see it happening.

The dogs, Lindita and Lupi, have certainly been feeling the cold. I took this this morning. They are snuggled under the radiator which was on. They are not daft lol. Lindita loves running around in the snow but Lupi hates it and I have to force him outside and he digs he paws in so I have to gently push him out the back door lol.

Battle Star Galactica and stuff

Woke up to sunshine and no rain today!

Had a really bad nights sleep last night.

We went to bed early and watched a DVD for a change. It was Battle Star Galactica, series one, episodes 1-4 of the newer one. Never seen it before and a friend has lent us the complete box set including the mini series. I was a huge fan of the old series when it was first shown and I am a bit divided as to whether I like this one or not. It takes a bit of getting used to not seeing Lorne Greene and that also, Starbuck is now played by a woman. But, I am not going to judge it too much until I'v watched all three series and the mini series.

When it finished it was 3.45am, so I read for 20 minutes and then just couldnt get to sleep. It was 6.45 till my eyes finally sucumbed so hopefully I will sleep very well tonight!

I have nothing planed for today other than cooking the Sunday dinner and making a nice apple crumble lol.

Hope everyone else is having a nice weekend!

I won vouchers

Photobucket

Woke up to lots of rain again and a very heavy fog which is still here.

I had a very nice surprise this morning. I won £15 worth of shopping prizes on Pogo's daily drawing! I rarely ever win on anything. The email says it takes up to 60 days to receive them. Wonder what shops I will be able to use them in?

Yesterday I finally ordered the much needed drive belt for our hoover from Amazon. The belt went the day we moved in our new house and we have been using a broom and dustpan and brush ever since. Not good when you got pets lol. They dispatched them within an hour of me ordering them. Well impressed.

Rain

Woke up to rain, rain and more rain. It's dull and dreary out and I havent bothered getting dressed yet as its more snug to stay in my cosy dressing gown lol.
Last night I was so cold that I caved in and put the central heating on for a bit. The weather has definitely got a lot colder these last few days. Trouble is I woke with a sinus headache where I had the heating on last night.

Tenantcy handed in

Just handed in my tenantcy for the house I am in. It officially ends on the 13th of September. As I left the house it was raining but that real fine stuff. Got half way down my road and the heavens opened up! Needless to say I got very wet and as soon as I walked back into the house the sun came out and we now have partial blue skies!
I am running about like a headless chicken as I don't know where to start on the house first or what to do! But I do know I need to get to Argus and buy some packing boxes.........bloody ridiculous price for them though, but what can you do when you need them?
Hope everyone is having a nice day!

No wonder I'm so cold!

According to the news on Yahoo, here in the south of England normally immune to the worst of the weather, was gripped by conditions colder than parts of Iceland and Greenland as temperatures fell close to minus 12C (10.4F) last night.
And I am really feeling it. It's too cold to get dressed so I am sitting here in two lots of night cloths, being a long nightie with pJ bottoms, dressing gown and a wolly scarf around my neck. I can't afford to run the heating for long so we put it on in the evenings when it's at it's coldest. I can't even stitch where my hands get too cold. The up side is snuggling under a duvet on the couch with a hot chocolate and reading hehehe.
