Janies Birthday Bash

It was our drum chum Janies Birthday on Saturday and she had a fancy dress bash at The Stag pub. The costume theme was anything begining with 'S'. I went as Sister Slapper and Colin went as a Smurf hahaha.

Since joining Section 5 drummers, I have gone from no social life to hectic social life but I love it. It is not good for anyone to sit indoors day after day (apart from stitching!).

Been way too long!

Once again I haven't blogged for ages. I don't mean to, it just happens. Normally I do not have much to blog about but now I have plenty of reasons to blog and didn't make time to blog, so my bad.
Colin and I have been out drumming most weekends at various events, including, Hastings Pirate day, Hastings carnival. Crowhurst Village Fair, Americas Ground Day and Bodiam Castle Medieval Fair. The last I have to say was my favourite as we got to drum on top of one of the turrets/towers. My outfit is getting wackier and wackier, but I love it. Joining Section 5 has been one of the best things I have done in recent years. I am blessed to have made so many friends and everyone is like a family .

This is Connor. He looks like a little bover boy as the little git darling got hold of a pair of scissors last night and cut his hair so he had bald patches lol, so his mum had to shave his hair!

Last but not least we have Tweedle Dum and Tweedle Dee aka my twins Joshua and Ashley.

It is going to be a long weekend for us as we have Colins Him Indoors parents and his boys coming down to stay with us for three days.  Monday is when the town is swamped by 30,000 plus bikers and we have the Jack in the Green festival. Will take lots of pictures to blog!

Bad Nights Sleep

Had a bad night's sleep and I blame Him Indoors! Off his own back, yesterday he decided he wanted to change the bedding for something cooler. So he put satin sheets, duvet cover and pillow cases on the bed. Needless to say when I wasn't sticking to the sheets, I was slipping out of the bed! Satin bedding looks lovely, but is so impractical! I have had them for years and they have only graced the bed once or twice. The cotton ones are going back on tonight I can tell you! lol

Oh, and apparently it is hotter than Tunisia right now!

Firewalk and Drumming

20042011082
We had a fabulous evening. My friend Jayne did a firewalk in aid of St Michaels Hospice. I am so proud of her and yes she did burn her feet. We couldn't get a shot of her actually walking on the embers as they had to walk across it so quick. There was around 40 people who did it. They do this particular event every two years and I have promised Jayne I will do it with her next time!

I am so very excited. Why you ask? Because Colin and I are joining a drumming club. Wait!!!!!!!!!!! Don't say BORING!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This isnt any old drum club, have a looksey here...www.section5.org.uk . The costumes are awesome, a complete free reign as long as it's black and red, and they play at all the major carnivals, medieval fairs, on piers, in the water lol, only requirement being you like pubs and a drink or two! Right up my alley lol. We begin in three mondays which is their practice nights, the next two mondays they are out and about drumming. They wear green on The Green Man festival. I can't wait to start going. It will do me good and get me out as I tend to live indoors and don't go out much. I can see members of my family and some friends taking the piss out of us, but I don't care cos I will be the one having fun and dressing up and raising money for charity. Oh and banging a lovely drum! Woohoo!

I have a confession......

I gave up smoking in 2004 but six months ago, I started back up on the dreaded weed. Roll ups as I can't stand packet fags and now I am having trouble giving it up. Every day I say 'I will give up tomorrow' but tomorrow never comes. I don't smoke in the house, I stand outside the back door whatever the weather. I am disapointed in myself. I was so proud of myself for giving up for so long. I am a fool to myself. I started back up as I was going through a lot of stress and illness but the smoking actually aggravates my stomach problems ( bile reflux due to the hospital ballsing up my gallbladder operation). I am not a heavy duty smoker and the first fag of the day always makes me so dizzy and feeling like shit, so why do I do it and find giving up so difficult to do?
Answers on a postcard please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Decluttering

Woke up to a beautiful sunny day but I am not going to be able to enjoy it as we are sorting the front room out and having a declutter........also sorting the cupboard out under the stairs. It still has packed boxes from when we moved into the house in 2009! Mostly knick knacks and ornaments. Going to sort through them, see what we want to keep and then give the rest to a charity shop. So a very exciting afternoon...........NOT lol.

Garden Thoughts

I have quite a small back garden but it is nice and I like it. I have just noticed that my little apple tree has got buds on it so it won't be long before blossom arrives. I will try and remember to take a picture.
I can also so our local cemetry from our garden (which does not bother me in the slightest). I like standing at the back door of an evening and listening to the owls hooting. It's eerie and beautiful at the same time.
One of my neighbours has a black fluffy cat called smoky and he is a mighty hunter.........not content with small creatures, I often see him prowling by the house with a rabbit in his mouth.  In a way it's upsetting to see but in another, it's just nature. I still think he is a little bugger though!

I'm Back!

It's been a long time since I blogged. It's been a series of things including illness.
I now have three more beautiful grandbabies, all girls and another grandbaby on the way! I am very blessed indeed!
24032011068
This is Androulla (Ulla) and Angelina (Angel) two of my grandbabies. There is 8 days between them.
I'm still reading heaps, probably more than ever......I finished Howards End by E M Forster. I stayed awake till 3 am to finish it as I was enjoying it so much. I didnt get up until nearly lunch time and neither did the twins, who are now 13. I don't know who's worse, them or me lol.
I will leave it there for now and hope to blog most days, even if it's me just rambling away with nothing special to say .
I hope everyone is having a lovely day!

This and That

The last two weeks I have been really ill with Swine Flu but am practically over it now. Just have a lingering cough. It really drained me and I'm still feeling the effects from it.

Saturday was the first day I had been out in a long time so Colin and I went into town and we had dinner at my daughters restaurant The Rainbow. I had scampi and chips with salad, yum! Afterward we did some shopping and brought lots of bits and pieces so I could get back into cake making.

Sunday was spent looking after Ulla while her mummy worked. She has really good hand co ordination for a six month old. She has no intention of moving much though, not even trying to roll over. Could be where she has a bit botty and tummy lol.

Today I spent the afternoon baking butterfly cakes and stitching. So a nice way to round the afternoon was with a pot of tea and a freshly baked cake :-)

Feeling Yuck

The last few days I have been quite poorly, with a fever, blocked nose, shivers and a temperature.
Thankfully my temperature broke during the night so I don't feel as bad as I did but still feel bad enough. No stitching has been done due to the fact I didn't want a drippy nose over it lol.

Colin decided he was going to put a shelf up by his computer and that made my nose worse because of the brick dust! He is such a plonker at times but I can't help loving him lol,

Yesterday Colin had to reformat my laptop, joy joy not! A windows update came in and it screwed the bloody thing up. So after the format, Colin didn't bother putting on the Windows 7 upgrade and am staying with Vista instead. Bleeding Microsoft grrrrrrr!

On the Razzle

Last night Colin and I went out with our friends Jayne and Olly. It was Ollys Birthday so we went for a meal at Cosmo's which is an eat as much as you like Asian eatery. We always get our monies worth as Colin eats enough for four of us lol .
Afterward we went to The Marina Fountain pub to watch a live band called Sonic Oblivion who were very good. They play stuff like Pink Floyd, Radio head, Metallica, Black Sabbath etc.
I only drank two and a half pints of lager so I was a good girl ;-p  Since I've had my gallbladder out my stomach and guts wont tolerate lots of alcohol.
I had a really bad night's sleep, probably due to the beer maybe, anxiety attacks ugh. Although we both enjoyed the night out, neither of us are big drinkers although we are both partial to a nice bottle of red wine now and again.

Busy Busy Busy!

Been a while since I blogged. I am going to try and blog more regularly .
Last weekend we attended Colin's Nan's funeral. It was a lovely ceremony conducted by a female vicar and she was very nice.

As you can see, she had some lovely flowers. Colin and I chipped in with Colin's mum and dad for the big one in the middle which was on the coffin.

My son and his fiance are getting married on Valentines Day so during the week I picked up my outfit....I'm Maid of Honour lol. I was very lucky and got a dress worth £150 reduced to £45 in the sale in Debenhams. Can't grumble at that can I?

Ben and Sarah are also moving house in the next couple of weeks too. Rather them than me, that's two highly stressful things going on for them at once!

I'm still trying to come to terms with Rene's passing. It still hasn't really sunk in properly yet. I can't go anywhere without seeing some kind of frog and thinking of her, but that's a good thing.
